TamFest Info

TamFest was created by a coalition of local businesses, council representatives and culture-sector partnerships. Our coalition is pursuing economic development in Ayr with a creative approach. We recognize that by strengthening the existing creative assets of our community we can contribute to our local economic development.

Creative assets include those relating to entertainment, educational institutions, museums, musicians, dance, theatre and fine arts. A flourishing arts and culture sector affects industry, job creation and population retention, all areas of concern for our coalition.

Robert Burns wrote the story of Tam o' Shanter to commemorate the Auld Kirk. Now, we are calling upon Tam once more to ride for the rebuilding of Ayr and we need your help. Our unique creative cultural history centring on Robert Burns' famous Ride of Tam o' Shanter. Ayr and Alloway are the only locations that can claim authentic re-enactment.

Arts and cultural activity will increase tourism in Ayr, attracting visitors from around the world.

The creation of an annual event establishes an on-going commitment to the renovation of Ayr and the revitalization of the local economy.

Sponsorship

Last year’s TamFest was a huge success and brought thousands of people into Ayr town centre. This year’s event will be even bigger and better, and we’re offering you the chance to get on board.

TamFest sponsorship is a great way to get your brand noticed. What’s more, it doesn’t cost a monster amount of money to get involved.

Our packages are frightfully good. Click the link below to find out more.

Volunteers

This is it - the search is now on to find our volunteers which will make TamFest happen.

It is your opportunity to become part of a large cultural event which is happening in the heart of Ayr. As a TamFest volunteer you are going to be the face of the event, and as such, be integral to its success. The support that you give is going to be important.

We have various roles, working on marketing, staging, directing visitors to various locations throughout the town centre, as well as give out some key information. We are also going to be looking for volunteers that will be able assist with re-enactments and also the various markets we have planned.

No previous experience is necessary, we are just looking for people who are friendly, welcoming and dedicated to making the event memorable for the many visitors we are bringing into Ayr.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, we'd love to hear from you. Please use the button below to email us.
